Porto Cervo's 5 symbols to photograph

The perfect spots to capture and share on social media

Gallura is definitely photogenic. Its crystal-clear waters, ultra-white sand, and lush vegetation are immortalized in the photographic memories of those who visit it for the first time, as well as those who return here every year. Places of the heart, evocative views and timeless symbols are like-proof on Instagram.

You just have to get lost among its wonders to unearth your favorite spots, although we suggest 5 spots you just can't miss for your photo memories!

  • The rock of the Emerald Coast

Located on Provincial Road 94, which leads from Olbia to the northeast coast area of Sardinia, the rock is the entry point into the areas protected and safeguarded by the Costa Smeralda Consortium. It is located about 15 minutes from town, on the right side of the road, shortly after you pass the town of Portisco. By now it has become one of the most beloved symbols for tourists, who do not miss the opportunity to pull up with their cars or motorcycles in the small area in front of the rock, to immortalize themselves with a souvenir selfie.

La roccia della Costa Smeralda

With its elegant boutiques and trendy restaurants, the Piazzetta of Porto Cervo is the starting point for discovering the village of Porto Cervo, which winds through picturesque alleys until it reaches the old port. A magical setting that is a must-visit destination: whether it's broad daylight or the setting of the sun, the charm of this enchanted place attracts, on a daily basis, thousands of people who pose for a romantic selfie or take a photo to post on social profiles (click here to find out everything you don't know about the historic Piazzetta).

  • The Mushroom of Arzachena

The rock shaped by time and weathering is the symbol of Arzachena. Its distinctive shape resembles a large mushroom, with a well-defined stem and cap. For this reason, it is called Monti Incappiddatu in the local dialect. Since Neolithic times, around 3000 B.C., ancient local people used it as a shelter and dwelling place, as shown by archaeological findings nearby and the stone walls built around it. It can be reached by a walk from Via Limbara, taking the granite-paved path through the center of town (want to find out what to do and where to eat in Arzachena? Click here!).

Il Fungo

  • Capo Faro

The Capo Ferro Lighthouse is located not far from Porto Cervo, near Cala Granu Beach. This lighthouse, built in the mid-19th century, has been operational since 1858. The structure consists of a white cylindrical masonry tower that includes accommodation for the keepers. The lighthouse marks the southeastern entrance to the Straits of Bonifacio, offering spectacular views of the sea between the island of Caprera and the coast (click here to discover the most beautiful hiking trails in the area).

  • The Old Bridge of Porto Cervo

Located along the Porto Cervo coastline, this old wooden bridge offers a striking view of the crystal clear sea and the boats that ply the calm waters of the coast. It is the ideal place for those seeking a moment of relaxation and contemplation, away from the more touristy crowds, and to stroll quietly, admiring the breathtaking view (to discover all the most picturesque places in Porto Cervo, click here!).
