A paradise for skiing in winter and hiking in summer

What aspects do Madonna di Campiglio and the Costa Smeralda have in common? One has the most fascinating mountain, the other the most exclusive beaches? The most famous piste, the Miramonti gully, home of the historic Alpine Skiing World Cup slalom (next event 8 January 2025), lights up at night to continue the thrill of a breathtaking descent under the stars. Madonna di Campiglio is the heart of the largest ski area in Trentino: 156 kilometres of slopes, all connected and designed across the three areas of Madonna di Campiglio, Pinzolo and Folgarida-Marilleva. Much sought after by the nobility and the wealthy Austrian and Central European bourgeoisie, at the end of the nineteenth century it was chosen as a holiday resort by the Habsburgs, Emperor Franz Joseph and Empress Elisabeth of Bavaria, known throughout the world as Sissi. The princely atmosphere returns every year, at Carnival time, with re-enactments of the Habsburg presence in Campiglio. From the aristocratic atmosphere of the past to today’s international sophistication, Madonna di Campiglio’s charm is timeless. The destination boasts the highest concentration of 4-star (31) and 4-star superior (5) hotels in Trentino.
