Different Lights, a photographic exhibition of Arzachena's archaeological sites at night
Mauro Caddeo's photographs can be seen until 30 November at the Michele Ruzittu civic museum in Arzachena
The archaeological sites of Arzachena portrayed under the starlight: a unique spectacle, where beauty becomes squared thanks to the light that turns to sunset. A pattern in blue in which eternal stones rich in history stand out: these are Mauro Caddeo's photographs on display until 30 November at the Michele Ruzittu civic museum in Arzachena.
‘The work collected in Mauro Caddeo's images offers one more opportunity to disseminate the beauty and importance of the ancient testimonies of Arzachena's culture,’ says Giovanni Carta, delegate for Culture.
‘Taking these photographs gave me a pleasure that I hope can fully transpire when observing the images on display on the first floor of the museum,' says author Mauro Caddeo. ’I am only the conduit. Most of the work was done by other men, millennia ago, and, above all, by Nature. It was not easy to capture the trails of falling stars in the shots, like walking several times at night along the dirt path leading to the Tempietto di Malchittu waiting for the ‘perfect moment’, just as it was not easy to capture the flash of a lightning bolt in what, in my opinion, is the most representative site of the Arzachena archaeological park, the Li Muri necropolis. In the exhibition and the Different Lights monograph, four years of patient work are collected, which I am proud to be able to tell the public about thanks to the support of the municipality'.
The exhibition can be visited until 30 November 2024 at the Museo Civico Michele Ruzittu in via Mozart, Arzachena, from Tuesday to Sunday during the museum's usual opening hours.
