Also known by the Sardinians as Spiaggia di Portu Li Coggi, the Spiaggia del Principe is a wide arch of fine white sand, separated in two sections by a promontory of pink granite rocks and surrounded by lush Mediterranean scrub. The colour and clarity of the sea are due to the unique white sandy seabed. The beach, secluded and wild, owes its name to the Arab prince Karim Aga Khan IV, architect of the tourist development of the area.
